We strive to create a warm and inviting place for children and their families where they can feel at home and experience the joys of learning together. Our facilities are inclusive, bias-free environments where each child’s thoughts are respected equally and incorporated into the foundations of the program.
Throughout the day, children are engaged in a wide variety of activities including explorations through self-directed play, creative art, indoor and outdoor play, snacks and lunch. For those children that require it, nap time is also available. Our community has a number of exciting, educational and fun adventures for children to experience. That is why we encourage children to explore their local neighbourhoods, parks, beaches and other community amenities.
All of Alex House’s Children’s Centres are approved, government-licensed facilities. Our staff is composed of licensed Early Childhood Educators according to the standards set out by the Provincial Child Care Facilities Licensing Act and the Province of BC. Our educators are deeply committed and dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive and creative programs.
Our child care programs operate on the stolen land of the Semiahma (Semiahmoo), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), and qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen) Nations. As we work towards decolonization, our children’s programs include Indigenous stories, materials, and equipment that are ethically sourced and presented with a commitment to learning and building understanding of the traditions and protocols of the Coast Salish people. Our work is aspirational, as we learn alongside the children, authentically and mindfully.

Hours of Operation:
Infant and Toddler, Multi-Age and Group 3-5-year-old programs are open Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
Pre-Kindergarten programs are open only on school days from 9am to 2pm.
School-age care programs are open Monday to Friday 7:30 - 8:30 AM and 2:30 - 5:30 PM on all school days. For school closure days, (Pro-D days, winter, spring and summer breaks) a full-day program is available 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
Our child care facilities are all closed for ALL statutory holidays, including the Friday before the Labour Day weekend for our staff’s annual professional development day.
