The Youth Space
The Youth Space is a safe, sober, and inclusive space where people ages 10-24 can learn new skills, make new friends, and get support in Bakerview Park for free!
All our activities and events are run by peers of the Youth Space in the community, based on their own passions and interests. There are also opportunities to get connected to a youth worker, counselling, mental health supports, harm reduction supplies, or job search resources.
The Youth Space runs five days a week, offering job, life, art and leadership skills by youth for youth. There are different activities planned every day and each month features regular programs and special events such as outdoor games, open mic nights and karaoke, baking and cooking, 2SLGBTQI+ social groups, and a social skills building group for youth ages 10-12. The program adapts and changes according to the needs, abilities and interests of the youth that visit the space.

The Youth Services Navigator Worker from Alex House is also available during the clinic to support youth and their caregivers with any inquiries, providing information and supporting connection to resources in the community.
Please check the VYC website for clinic dates and times and to book an appointment.
You can also contact the clinic for more information at vineyouthclinic@gmail.com or 604-542-3926.
Youth Volunteer Opportunities
At the Youth Space, volunteers have the opportunity to share their ideas of what they would like to do and how they would like to be involved while leveraging Alex House’s support.
Current volunteer opportunities include cooking and food prep in the kitchen, gardening, starting or supporting a new club or group, youth leadership, homework club, social media and blogging, grant writing, fundraising and community networking.
There are also opportunities to mentor younger youth through any of our current programs.
Youth volunteers have organized, hosted and led book clubs, doodle dens, cooking groups, peer-support groups, gardening groups, DJing, open-mic nights, and Queer Prom!
Develop your leadership and teamwork skills and earn volunteer hours for your resume, job search applications or school!
