Office Administrator
Regular Full-Time (35 hours/week)
Alex House is a member of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia, a non-profit community-based organization est. in 1894. Alex House operates multiple sites in South Surrey White Rock, with our main facility in Crescent Beach, where we operate on the stolen and occupied land of Semiahmoo Nation. The Crescent Beach site houses our Retreat & Event Centre, 4 child care classrooms, and hosts community programs in a facility with buildings that range in age from 1940’s to 1990’s. Alex House (Alex NH) is looking for a community minded person who is responsible for ensuring the effective development, and implementation of a variety of administrative activities and initiatives, under the direction of the Director, Core Operations. Areas of responsibilities will include- administrative support to childcare programs which includes payment processing of childcare fees. This position will be located at our main office in Crescent Beach, Surrey.
Key Duties and REsponsibilities:
1. Monthly childcare billing, including BC Affordable Child Care Benefits.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor administrative systems to support childcare centre(s) payments, EFT, Accpac data entry, process fees through EFT/CAFT in consultation with the Childcare Administrator.
3. Manage all childcare subsidies and bursaries.
4. Access and manage childcare registration platforms in conjunction with childcare team.
5. Coordinate annual tax receipts for childcare payments
6. Extensive experience in ACCPAC (SAGE 300) required, and experience preparing budgets and asset.
7. Support reception including meeting/greeting walk-ins.
8. Assist with special events/community engagement activities including Alexandra Festival.
9. Current First Aid Certification.
10. Early Childcare Education Certificate would entitle you to the $6/hr Wage Enhancement.
11. Other duties as required.
Salary: $25.78 per hour
Start Date: Successful candidate is expected to start December 1-2024
Position will remain open until successful candidate is found.
Qualifications Required:
1. Minimum 5 years of experience with ACCPAC, Excel, and other essential office software.
2. Strong background in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
3. Experience with childcare financial administration is considered an asset.
