Neighbourhood Small Grants
You are here
Great news!
Neighbourhood Small Grants for folks living in South Surrey, White Rock, and Cloverdale have been extended to June 30, 2022!
Do you have an idea for a project to bring your neighbours together? Maybe you have a skill to share, a vision for beautifying a place, or just want to throw a party for the whole block. Funding of up to $500 is available to help you make your idea a reality. Find out more and apply at www.neighbourhoodsmallgrants.ca!
The idea behind Neighbourhood Small Grants is that the best people to create change in a community are the ones living there. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine! Up to $500 is available to individuals and households looking to create an activity or project which will bring neighbours together. To find out more or apply, check out www.neighbourhoodsmallgrants.ca
Locally, the grants (of up to $500) have supported crafts workshops, beautification projects, online yoga sessions, movie nights, food drives, and much more.
We're seeking two or three individuals interested in joining our Neighbourhood Grant Committee during this fall cycle. The commitment of one or two hours per week involves privately reviewing and assessing online applications; participating in biweekly online meetings; liaising with project leaders and attending the celebration event in early 2022. There are other opportunities to get more deeply involved in the community-building work of NSGs, as well!
No experience is necessary! The only prerequisites are residency in the catchment area and a passion for bringing community together. If you'd like to find out more about volunteering for the Neighbourhood Grant Committee, please contact Neil Fernyhough at communityprograms@alexhouse.net.
